Dr. Nate Hoernke, DVM
Dr. Hoernke was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in biology from Cardinal Strich university in 2016. After graduation he spent time working as an animal care technician at an animal humane society, before attending vet school in 2019. Over the first 3 years of veterinary school, he spent his summers working as a technician and shadowing Dr. Wright at Brown Deer Animal Hospital. Dr. Hoernke joins the Brown Deer Animal Hospital family as a physician after graduating from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with his degree of veterinary medicine in 2023.
Dr. Hoernke and his wife Kayla enjoy spending time outdoors as well as with family and friends. Dr. Hoernke has 2 cats named Ruby and Copper. He also has a red-eared slider named Clifford, a leopard gecko named Houdini, a Pacman frog named Akira, and a cornsnake named Cornelius. Dr. Hoernke’s veterinary interests include soft tissue surgery, exotics, shelter medicine, fear free medicine, and canine and feline wellness.
